Clahane Shore Walk & Sea Dip

Clahane Shore Walk & Sea Dip

Clahane is the locals’ coastal pocket—tidal rock pools, seabirds, wildflowers, and a slipway with ladders into glassy water on calm days. At low tide you can potter along the rocks and pools; at high tide strong swimmers brave short dips (conditions change quickly). It’s photogenic at sunset, but the surface is slick when wet: solid shoes help, and always check tide and swell before committing to a swim. Periodic community attention to safety (like debates about steps/ladders) reflects how cherished—and rugged—this swim spot is.
